Socialize your web site
I have converted several web sites over to Web 2.0 over the last month.
Here’s the procedure if you want to do it yourself, or i can do some of it for you or all if needed.
Why?
Well why do this, basically because Web 1.0 sites are not working any more, they are getting little or no traffic. Most, and I mean MOST, hard to say 75% to 90% would be my estimate of NEW traffic is coming from the social network sites Twitter Facebook and the like.
So the why if you want to make your web site 10, 100, 1,000 times more effective you need to be in this space.
What?
To link in to this space I suggest,
- Convert your web site to a web 2.0 blogging platform like www.wordpress.com (follow this link and setup a free account we will need this later)
- Join Twitter
- Join Facebook
- Join MySpace ( skip for now if you like can add later)
- Link Twitter to Facebook and your web site, so your Tweets, go to both saving you time
- Collect all the email addresses you have and clean them ( check that the are current, I can do that for you) and have Twitter check who has a Twitter account, follow them and invite the rest to follow you
- Do the same for Facebook, and MySpace if having one
- If you work with a computer close by add IM (Instant Messaging, msn Skype, and get a good headset) to your Web site
- MOST IMPORTANTLY who is going to commit to adding content, a minimum of 2 Tweets and 1 Posting per week, If you are not going to do this don’t bother.
How?
Follow the steps above do as much as you can your self, and get me to finish it off, and pimp it.
- I need your domain info from www.auda.org.au and access to your existing domain hosting.
- Login names and passwords for the accounts you have setup or what you would like to use, business name and person.
- Any images or content that you would like to use
- Your email lists, export from outlook, hotmail or what ever you have
- The name and contact details or who’s task it will be to do the weekly tasks
How Much?
Below are links to several examples of new sites, the cost of these has been between $500 and $2,500, a couple of these sites have over 100 web pages I have an indicative price list on http://www.ozol.com.au/?p=95 and 3 levels of hosting $22, $44 or $55 per month depending on your requirements, at the top level manage the sites and update the plugins on a regular basis. you can host for free at www.wordpress.com
Examples:
Some are still WIP, awaiting content from clients.
